Virginia Cooley

Oct. 9, 1929 - Jan. 12, 2013

Virginia passed away peacefully, at the age of 83, after a short illness. She was a native of Santa Cruz, California, and moved to Bend, Oregon, in the 60s, after her marriage to Bob Cooley, a state policeman.

Virginias early years were spent in Santa Cruz, then northern California as a teen, where she graduated from Hoopa High School in 1947. She and her first husband, Lincoln Martin had two sons, Nick, and Terry Martin. Virginia met and married Bob Cooley and moved to Corvallis in 1963, then a short time later, to Bend.

Bob and Virginia had one son together, Pat Cooley, who lives with his family near Burns, Oregon.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Patrick and (Dorey) Cooley, of Hines, Oregon, Terry and (Carol) Martin, and Nick and (Anne) Martin of Bend, Oregon; her brother, Jim Clark of Lakeside, Oregon, and Jims children, Vickie and Sandy; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Victoria, Morgan, Justin, Alicia, and Zach, and three great- grandchildren, Samantha, Alec and Cody. She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Ann Gladden, who was her caregiver the last three months of her life.

Virginia enjoyed her children, grand and great- grandchildren. She loved her flowers, the ocean, and beaches of the Oregon Coast. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Cooley, her parents, Alice Merritt, and Winford Clark, and former husband, Lincoln Martin.

At Virginias request, there will be no services. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
