All Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles offices will close Friday through Monday for a statewide furlough day Friday and for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.
The DMV urges customers to do business by mail or online if possible. Because customer waiting times tend to be longer on days before and after office closures, the DMV asks that customers plan their visits to the DMV before Thursday or after Jan. 22 to avoid long lines.
Friday’s closure is the eighth of 10 statewide mandatory unpaid furlough days for most state agencies. The two remaining furloughs will take place in April and May.
