Richard McWilliam, 59: Innovative leader of the trading card company Upper Deck who helped make it an industry powerhouse at a time when baseball and other sports cards were increasingly coveted by adult collectors. Died Jan. 5 in Carlsbad, Calif.
Gordon Chavunduka, 82: Author, sociologist and politician whose research bridged the gap between Western medicine and African tribal healers, sometimes called witch doctors. Died Friday in Harare, Zimbabwe.
