Eva Irene Kaser, 93, passed away on December 27, 2012, in Albany, Oregon. She was born December 16, 1919, in Mitchell, Oregon, and lived her youth nearby where her father had a homestead on Cherry Creek in Jefferson County. She married Robert R. Kaser in 1938, and they operated a ranch for many years east of Ashwood, Oregon. She was widely known for her baking and seamstress prowess, and enjoyed gardening, with emphasis on flower raising. She kept in contact with her widely scattered neighbors through Canasta and Bridge Club activities, in conjunction with the many school functions that served at the center of the Ashwood community. After Robert R. Kaser passed away, she lived for several years in Prineville, and later Corvallis. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, and is survived by her brother, Milton (Bud) Shrum, of Prineville; her sons, John Robert Kaser, of Corvallis, and Theodore Arthur Kaser, of Henderson, Nevada; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Interment will be in The Dalles.
