Joseph John Thalhofer

Joseph John Thalhofer, 88, of Bend died peacefully at home on January 5, 2013. He was known by most as Joe, or "Judge" Thalhofer. Born in Klamath Falls, he grew up in Prineville and after college at Harvard, a tour in the army and finishing at Harvard with a law degree, he returned to raise his family in Central Oregon where he served as a judge for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth (Rickman), three siblings: Mary Ann Myers, Portland, OR, Robert L. Thalhofer, Rockford IL, and Paul A. Thalhofer, Troutdale, OR. He also leaves a very large loving family including his six children: Kerry, Lorrie (Jones), Mike, Mary (McCool), Katie (McCarthy) and Pete and their spouses and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Joe's funeral will be held on Friday, January 11, at 2:30 p.m., at the historic St. Francis Catholic Church preceded by a Rosary at 1:45 p.m..

He will be buried in Prineville at Juniper Haven at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12.
