Marion Tannen, 94, passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, in Chico, CA. Born in Chicago, IL, on June 27, 1918, she was the daughter of David and Frieda Nemkovsky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Gordon and her husband of over 50 years, Benjamin Tannen. She is survived by her son, Jason Tannen; her daughter, Loretta Tannen; her grandchildren, Margot Spangler-Tannen, Ian Fohrman and Julian Fohrman; and nephews, Richard Gordon and Joel Tanenbaum.

Marion lived most of her married life in Dayton, OH, where she was a loving wife and partner to her devoted husband, Ben and a giving, generous and involved mother to her son and daughter.

They were active and charitable members of Beth Abraham Synagogue in Dayton and Marion remained proud of her Jewish heritage and history throughout her life. After moving to Bend, OR, in the early 1990's to be near their grandchildren. Marion and Ben became much-loved members of the Jewish Community there and were instrumental in establishing the religious education program at Congregation Shalom Bayit. Marion loved her second home in Boca Raton, FL, where she had an active and very enjoyable social life. The foundation of her small, close-knit family, she will be profoundly missed.
