Book drive aimed at prison inmates

Published: December 29. 2012 4:00AM PST

Gorilla Gospel Motorcycle Club is accepting donations of new and used books to be given to prison inmates in Oregon via its Brains Over Chains program.

The group of self-described “sinners and ex-cons who have changed their lives and now ride together" are working with the Oregon Department of Corrections to provide inmates and prison libraries with books, according to a press release.

Book donations will be accepted through March.

Donations can be made in Bend at Westside Church, 2051 N.W. Shevlin Park Road; and Urban Pointe Dance Center, 1245 S.E. Third St. The books will be delivered to Oregon prisons and Youth Authority on April 1.
