Imagine life without New Year’s Eve parties. No confetti. No noisemakers. No champagne. No “Auld Lang Syne." Virtual strangers far less amenable to a midnight smooch.
A nightmare scenario, right?
Fortunately, New Year’s Eve parties are not only a thing, they’re flourishing. Around Central Oregon, there will be plenty of live music, DJs DJing and breakers breaking.
No, really. At 2nd Street Theater, breakdancers, new wavers, Flashdancers and anyone else who remembers the ’80s can bust their best dance moves at the New Year’s Eve Party, where FunBobby will perform.
But perhaps the ’90s and “What is Love" are more your thing. In that case, you’ll want to dust off your shiniest purple suit and get thee to Seven Nightclub in Bend and the A Night at the Roxbury Party, with ULTRADJGIRL.
Also in Bend, local songsmiths-made-good Larry & His Flask will delete this year in raucous fashion at the Rise Up New Year’s Eve Bash, with support from Paul James, Hopeless Jack and Terrible Buttons.
At Madness at the Midtown, NastyNasty, Samples, Woody McBride, Medium Troy and some 21 other DJs and producers will descend on Bend from Reno, Portland, Eugene, Colorado and elsewhere, in the Midtown, Domino Room and Annex.
If you’re up in Sisters, Central Oregon faves Moon Mountain Ramblers will cook up their special blend of Americana and bluegrass with Grit & Grizzle at The Belfry.
That’s just a taste of what’s going on New Year’s Eve. For details on these and other events at which to get your canoodle on, see listings at left.
