Milton A. Garthwaite of Redmond, OR, died December 18, 2012, at the age of 67. He was born March 12, 1945, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Armond and Esther (Kivela) Garthwaite. Milton attended and graduated high school in Keokuk, Iowa.

After graduating, he joined the United States Air Force in 1963, and served in Vietnam. On December 16, 1967, he married Anna Wilbur in Springfield, OR.

Milton graduated college from Oregon State University in 1973. He and Ann relocated to Redmond in 1987, where Milton worked as a diesel mechanic for the City of Redmond until he retired.

Milton served as President of Redmond High School Booster Club; he served on the Central Oregon Parks and Recreation Board as well as coached Babe Ruth Baseball. Milton was always ready to lend a helping hand. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Garthwaite; his sons, Matthew (Karen) Garthwaite and Todd (Randi) Garthwaite; grandchildren, Ryan and Cody Gowdy and Jayce, Tanner and Gracie Garthwaite; two sisters and three brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
