Neal Byron Harvey was born on January 18, 1928 in Eugene, OR to Guy and Olive Harvey.
After graduation from Creswell High School he proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Neal married Shirley (Weatherford) Harvey in Burnt Woods, OR on August 13, 1955. They made their home in Redmond, OR. During his career he was a log truck driver and also a member of the local Carpenters Union in Bend, OR. Shortly after retirement he was paralyzed in a logging accident.
Neal is survived by his wife Shirley of 57 years and his 6 children, Patricia (Randy) Canady of Kenai, AK, Linda Harvey of La Grande, OR, Steven (Shannon) Harvey of Fairbanks, AK, Kenneth Harvey of Seneca, OR, Ross (Linda) Harvey of Medford, OR, and Rachel (David) Christensen of Redmond, OR. Neal is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
There was not a day of Neal's life that he did not praise God for family, these would be the people that made every day of his latter years precious.
“And unto you I will praise and honor you.” Not only did he speak these words but also he faithfully lived them everyday of his life. A man of God was how he lived and how he chose to raise a family.
Memorial services Saturday, December 15, at 12 pm at the City Center Church in Redmond, OR. Potluck will follow immediately. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
