Dorothy June Tuttle, former Fort Rock resident, died in Milwaukie, OR, on November 17, 2012, at age 96. She was born in Grand Forks, ND, to Theoline and Charles Olsen on June 24, 1916. Dorothy graduated from high school in Manvel, ND, and attended beauty school.

Dorothy married Dean A. Norton in South Dakota on January 9, 1937, and moved to Bend, OR, in 1942. She worked as a beautician, and beauty shop owner- operator for over 30 years. Dorothy married Robert R. Tuttle on February 27, 1968, in Reno, NV. She and Robert owned a cattle and hay ranch in Fort Rock until their retirement, and then enjoyed spending time in Blue River, OR, and at their cabin on the Oregon coast. Dorothy moved to Oregon City, OR in 1999.

Dorothy was a past member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bend, where she sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Lake County Cowbelles, and Fort Rock Valley Historical Society. Dorothy was proud of her Norwegian heritage and roots in North Dakota, where she grew up with three brothers, and nine sisters. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, reading, and staying in touch with family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Dean Norton in 1962, husband, Robert R. Tuttle in 1998, son, John Tuttle in 1971, and all of her siblings.

Survivors include three sons, Dean Norton of Oregon City, OR, Robert, and Charles Tuttle of Fort Rock, OR, a daughter Sharon Tuttle of Eugene, OR, four grandchildren, DeDe Furbee, Charles Norton, John Tuttle, Sean Tuttle, and seven great- grandchildren.

At her request, no services were held. Remembrances may be sent to the Fort Rock Valley Historical Society, P.O. Box 84, Fort Rock, OR 97735.
