SALEM — Police arrested a 23-year-old man Monday after some bizarre behavior at a Salem bank.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says Danny Dean Kelly took off his shoes and socks and put them in a waste basket with some other items with wires.
He then put a portable radio on the bank counter. He was wearing a metal vest. As he left the bank, he put on a dog muzzle and boarded a bus.
The Statesman Journal reported a deputy stopped the bus and arrested Kelly, a Salem resident who has a criminal history that includes car theft and robbery convictions.
A bomb squad checked the items at the bank and determined they were harmless
Kelly was jailed on disorderly conduct and menacing charges. He’ll also have a mental evaluation.
