EUGENE — Police say a 38-year-old Sweet Home woman has been accused of manslaughter and drunken driving in a car crash that killed a radiology technician on her way home from work.

The Eugene Register-Guard reports that 46-year-old Lori Jean McNamara, of Westfir, died Monday evening on state Highway 58.

Police arrested 38-year-old Traci Lynn Akers, who was driving an SUV with her 14-year-old daughter as a passenger, when, police said, she crossed the center line and crashed into McNamara’s oncoming car. Akers and her daughter were treated for minor injuries.

Authorities filed other charges, including assault, and said Akers tussled with medics on the way to the hospital. She was arraigned Tuesday and did not enter a plea.
