Richard Robbins, 71: Composer who created memorable scores for such films as “A Room With a View," “Howards End" and “The Remains of the Day" during a quarter-century collaboration with director James Ivory and producer Ismail Merchant. Died Nov. 7 in Rhinebeck, N.Y., of Parkinson's disease.
Wendell D. Garrett, 83: An authority on American decorative arts and known to public-television viewers for his long, professorial presence as an appraiser on “Antiques Roadshow." Died Wednesday in Williston, Vt.
Connie Wald, 96: A Beverly Hills hostess whose dinner parties began during Hollywood's Golden Age and became an enduring social institution. Died Nov. 10.
