MEDFORD — An Oregon man has been charged with felony animal abuse after police say he shot a dog that may have defecated on his property.
Jackson County sheriff’s spokeswoman Andrea Carlson says 56-year-old Danny Lee Tryon, of Trail, told deputies that several dogs were using his yard as a bathroom and he was tired of it.
The shepherd-mix named Sasha was shot with a .22-caliber gun on Nov. 10. The Mail Tribune newspaper reports that the dog underwent a procedure to save its life and might recover.
