Art was born in Prineville, Oregon, to Karl and Ruth Miller. He was a lifelong Central Oregon resident, attending schools in Paulina, Post, Prineville, and Redmond.

He attended U of O on a football scholarship, but before graduation, he joined the Army in 1940 due to WWII.

Art was very proud of his military service. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel in November of 1968.

He was active in the community with the VFW, Eagles Lodge, Crook County Search & Rescue, and Crook County Historical & Genealogy Society and others too numerous to mention.

Art is survived by his daughter, Kem Scorvo of Vancouver, WA; step- daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Steve Finzer of Terrebonne; four grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren.

A memorial service with military honors is scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 1:00 p.m. at Prineville Presbyterian Church, 1771 NW Madras Hwy, Prineville. A reception follows the service at the Prineville VFW Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bowman Museum, 246 North Main St., Prineville, OR 97754, Prineville VFW, or any local veterans organization.
