The Astro Lounge on Saturday night will host a nice mix of local and nonlocal hip-hop as the Look Good, Feel Good Tour kicks off in Bend.
The headliner of the night is The Knux, a brotherly L.A. duo back in town for their second show in three months. These dudes were raised in the cradle of American music, New Orleans, on a steady diet of just about everything but hip-hop. Now, their music is slick and propulsive, a dance-friendly fusion of rock and rap.
The linchpin of the lineup is MC Jay Tablet, one half of Cloaked Characters and the locally based, self-made Energizer Bunny of good-times, pop-influenced hip-hop. He’ll be joined by fellow Character Rory Oneders, soulful singer Caitlin Cardier and veteran Bend/Portland turntablist DJ Harlo.
Also on the bill: Bay Area DJ True Justice and Zyme, aka Enzyme Dynamite of California’s Bayliens crew, whose predilection for big, flamboyant beats landed his song “Bring It Back" in a pretty cool Nike advertisement.
Look Good, Feel Good tour with The Knux, Jay Tablet, Zyme and more; 10 p.m. Saturday; $5; Astro Lounge, 939 N.W. Bond St., Bend; www .astroloungebend.com.
