Japanese store hosts diorama competition

Published: November 16. 2012 4:00AM PST

If you’re a competitive eraser diorama maker, is this ever the contest for you!

Wabi Sabi, seller of “cool Japanese stuff," will hold the Japanese Eraser Diorama Competition in early December.

The contest is free and open to all who create a diorama in a shoe box.

And just in case you’re wondering what a diorama is, it’s a three-dimensional model of a scene. As the title implies, you must use at least one Japanese eraser in its making.

Prizes will be awarded in elementary, middle school and “Old Guys" divisions.

Entries may be turned in between Dec. 5 and 7 at Wabi Sabi, 830 N.W. Wall St., in Bend. Judging starts at 5 p.m. Dec. 7.

Contact: www.wabisabi bend.com or 541-633-7205.
