Splashing in the therapy pool at Healing Bridge, a Bend physical therapy clinic, Georgia Merrifield works with 2-year-old Lily Moore. Merrifield uses the warm pool to help children develop motor skills. “Water is a good environment," Merrifield says. “It’s a gravity-eliminated enviroment and that makes it easier to move."
Georgia Merrifield, a certified pediatric physical therapist at Healing Bridge in Bend, has been helping children with disabilities for 42 years — in the gym, in the pool, on horseback and at home.
“It is really a great feeling to watch a child grow and change, and feel that you had a positive influence on that child," she says.
