The holidays are coming, as are opportunities to celebrate and help those in need of assistance. The Assistance League of Bend is putting on its 18th annual Gala of Trees at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Riverhouse Convention Center. The event, which includes dinner and dessert, silent and live auctions, will benefit children in need. Proceeds from the gala assist adult and children’s programs, including Operation School Bell, which provides clothing for children.
