Jean was born January 15, 1921, to Iva Agnas (Cox) McDaniel and Jacob William McDaniel, in Eugene, Oregon. On November 2, 2012, she went to meet her Lord and Savior. She died peacefully at her home in Bend with her family by her side.
Jean graduated from Bend High School in 1940, and then went on to become an LPN, graduating from St. Charles Nursing program in 1955.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Carey; and her two sons, Lawrence Finley and Neil Finley; and her three sisters, Mary, Amy, and Elaine. She is survived by two daughters-in-law, two stepsons, 13 grandchildren, 31 great-granchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
A funeral service was held Nov. 8, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at the Real Life Christian Church, 2880 N.E. 27th St., Bend, OR 97701.
