Local golfers

• Central Oregon junior third in Arizona tournament: Bend's Madison Odiorne shot a 3-over-par 74-73—147 to finish in third place Sunday at a Future Collegians World Tour event at Arizona State University's Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.

Odiorne, a sophomore at Summit High School, finished eight strokes behind winner Haley Moore, of Escondido, Calif.

The 19-player field, all girls ages 13 to 18, featured some of the top junior golfers from around the western United States and Canada.

Courses

• Sisters course offers two ways to golf for free: Aspen Lakes Golf Course is offering three free days of golf around Veterans Day this weekend to current and former members of the U.S. military, as well as discounted green fees to the general public as part of the course's annual canned-food drive.

From Saturday through Monday, active duty, reserve, and retired members of the military can play a free round of golf at the Sisters course. Participating golfers are asked to wear their uniform hat.

On Friday, golfers who donate four nonperishable food items or make a minimum $5 donation will have Aspen Lakes' $45 regular green fee waived. After Friday, golfers who make the same donation will receive a $15 discount off the course's regular green fee. The donations will benefit the Sisters Kiwanis Food Bank.

For more information or to make a tee time, call the Aspen Lakes pro shop at 541-549-4653 or visit www.aspenlakes.com.
