Milt Campbell, 78: The first African-American to win the Olympic decathlon, in 1956, he went on to play professional football and become a motivational speaker. Died Saturday at his home in Gainesville, Ga., after a battle with prostate cancer.
Lebbeus Woods, 72: An experimental architect who inspired colleagues and architecture students with radically inventive designs and installations that evoked futuristic worlds and cityscapes. Died Oct. 30 in Manhattan.
