Ruth Ellis Walker of Eugene, died Oct. 22 of age related causes. She was 88. Services are pending.
She was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Flora (Arpy) Ellis. She married Paul Dancy Walker on Dec. 19, 1970, in Whittier, California. He died in 2005.
Ruth was a graduate of North High School, Des Moines, Iowa, Class of 1942. She received her bachelor's degree from Occidental College and her master's degree from Azusa Pacific University. She was an elementary school teacher for 31 years. She retired from East Whittier School District in Whittier, California, in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Craig Lannom of Eugene, OR, and Bruce Alan Walker of Atlanta, GA; brother, Charles 'Bud' Ellis of Florence, OR; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.
