Christine Elisabeth Hanson, of Bend, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, of a cancer-related illness. She was 53 years old.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Aspen Hall, located at 18920 Shevlin Park Rd., in Northwest Bend.
Christine was born September 23, 1959, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the daughter of Franklyn and Trudy Cutrone. She graduated from North Alleghany High School in Pittsburgh, PA.
In 1981, she received her Bachelors in Speech Communication from Westchester University in Philadelphia, PA. Then Chris boldly traveled to rural Watford City, N.D., for her first job.
She met her husband, Marvin Keith Hanson there and they married on December 31, 1983, in Los Altos, CA. They then moved to Oregon to further their education; Christine attained a Masters Degree in Speech Communication from Western Oregon College in 1987.
Christine worked as a Speech Therapist in the public schools for 28 years. For the past 15 years she worked for the Bend School District. Christine loved working with people, especially young adults and children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, skiing and traveling. Most importantly though, she enjoyed being a wonderful mother, friend and role-model to her daughters. She loved life, and never missed the opportunity to make new friends and help those in need.
Survivors include her husband, Keith, of Bend; two daughters, Erika of Chicago, IL, and Kelly of Minneapolis, MN; her parents, Frank and Trudy Cutrone of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Lee Cutrone of Wallingford, CT, and Peter Cutrone of Portland, ME; and two sisters, Claudia Sacavage of Trout Run, PA, and Cynthia Keener of Los Angeles, CA.
