Susan McWilliams has been selected by the Oregon Science Teachers Association to receive the Fred Fox Distinguished Service to Science Education Award for 2012. McWilliams is a science education consultant for schools in Central Oregon and is on the board of the Oregon Science Teachers Association as the representative for Central Oregon K-12 teachers. She was an educator at the High Desert Museum for 12 years and was also an education instructor for Central Oregon Community College, OSU-Cascades Campus and Eastern Oregon University Central Oregon. McWilliams was recently elected to serve as president-elect of the Oregon Science Teachers Association.
Ryan Patrick has been named chairman of the board for Cascade Bancorp. Patrick is a partner in the accounting firm Patrick Casey & Co. LLP in Bend and has been a board director since 1998. Patrick was also a former board director for St. Charles Health System.
Charles Reeves has joined Bank of the Cascades, headquartered in Bend, as the executive vice president and chief banking officer. Reeves will be responsible for the bank’s loan, deposit and delivery strategies. He previously worked as market president for Fifth Third Bancorp in Chicago and as head of Chicago’s Commercial Banking group.
Matthew Lankins has joined Total Property Resources LLC in Bend as a broker. Lankins’ background inncludes law enforcement, commercial aviation, flight instruction, college instruction and military service. He has both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in criminal justice.
Stacy Denbow has been promoted to expansion manager for Deschutes Brewery. Denbow has been the zone sales manager for Deschutes since 2005, has been in the brewing industry for 15 years and is based in Denver. In this new position, he will be responsible for identifying and opening new retail markets, creating market launch plans and working on distributor partnerships.
The Redmond Area Toastmasters Club has elected two new officers. Shannon Haas, mother of seven children, is the new president. Al Haslebacher, retired, is the new vice president of education and training.
