After a weekend of gray clouds threatening possible precipitation, rain is likely to fall today and tonight in Bend.
There is a 70 percent chance of rain today and a 60 percent chance tonight, according to the National Weather Service. There is also a 50 percent chance of rain Tuesday.
Rainfall should be light, though, said Rob Brooks, a forecaster with the weather service in Pendleton. He expected only a tenth of an inch of rain to fall on Bend over the next couple of days.
The latest weather system will likely bring winds, he said.
Winds today should be around 15 mph from the southwest, according to the weather service. Tuesday winds are expected to be around 18 mph from the west, with gusts up to 28 mph.
As the system passes through, temperatures are expected to cool off. The high today should be 70 degrees and the low 48. Tuesday’s high should be 58 degrees, and the low is expected to drop below freezing to 28, as the clouds are expected to part.
