Recreation Access

Construction workers treat concrete in an underpass that will allow bicycle riders, runners and walkers to safely access trails. West Bend Property Co., the developer of NorthWest Crossing, is working with the city of Bend to construct the 24-foot-wide underpass. It will create a crossing under Northwest Lemhi Pass Drive (see attached map), so users can avoid vehicular traffic and a steep incline associated with a future intersection at Lemhi Pass and Skyliners Road, said David Ford, general manager of West Bend Property. The underpass structure is tied to phase 17 of NorthWest Crossing's development plan and will cost West Bend Property about $360,000. Construction began in July and completion is expected early next month.
