Published: October 12. 2012 2:01PM PST

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for Oregon filed a criminal complaint today against a Warm Springs tribal member alleging he murdered Jonas Miller, whose body was found Sept. 30.

Curtis Lamont Brown was charged with second-degree murder in connection with Miller’s death. Brown was also indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday as an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder in connection with a separate case, the death of Faron Lynn Kalama, also of Warm Springs reservation.

Brown and two co-defendants in the Kalama case where scheduled for arraignment this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Janice M. Stewart, of Portland.

The grand jury indicted Tana Chris Lawrence and Angeledith Saramaylene Smith, both of Warm Springs, on one count each of first-degree murder in connection with Kalama’s death Sept. 29, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The indictment alleges the pair killed Kalama in the course of kidnapping Kalama and committing aggravated sexual abuse, sexual abuse and burglary.
