Dean Alexander Stiles of Redmond, OR, died at his home on October 4, 2012, at the age of 77. Dean was born February 14, 1935, in Denver, CO, to Dennie and Hazel (Paul) Stiles.
He worked as a real estate agent in Salem, OR, and retired in the late 1970s. In 2008, he and his life partner, Kay Scott, relocated to Redmond. Dean was a member of the Elks Lodge and he enjoyed ranching, cooking, landscaping, and he was an excellent golfer.
Dean is survived by his fiance, Kay Scott; son, Lorren Stiles of Las Vegas; daughter, Carrie O'Dell of Las Vegas; step-daughter, Aimee Connor of Salem, OR; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Natalie, and Stephen; six siblings, Joyce Cole, Darlene Carey, Don Stiles, Carol Whitehurst, Rolla Carnine and Sharon Stiles.
He was preceded in death by eight siblings, twin sisters, Maxine and Madine Stiles, twin brothers, Darwin and Dorwin Stiles, Joan Hires, Richard Stiles, Delores Carnine, and Stephen Stiles.
A memorial service will be held at Silverton United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the SHS Alumni Association (Scholarship Fund), 303 Oak St., Silverton, OR 97381.
