Body of Warm Springs woman found; two arrested

Published: October 05. 2012 2:26PM PST

The Warm Springs Police Department and the FBI located and recovered the body today of Faron Kalama, 30, who was reported missing earlier this week, according to an FBI news release,

Her body was recovered in a remote area of the Warm Springs Indian reservation. An autopsy will be scheduled with the Medical Examiner’s office and results may not be available until early next week.

Warm Springs police arrested two women, Tana Lawrence and Angeledith Kalama, on charges of assault and battery, kidnapping and sexual assault related to Kalama’s disappearance, according to the bureau. Both women, tribal members, are housed in the tribal detention facility. The women may face federal charges in the future, according to the FBI release.

Investigators have no indication that Kalama’s disappearance is connected to the death of Jonas Andrew Miller, whose body was found on the reservation earlier this week, according to the FBI. The tribal police and FBI are investigating Miller’s death as a homicide investigation.
