Prineville police initiated 16 investigations into sex offenders in Crook County who failed to register and meet addressing requirements.
The investigations were part of Crook County law enforcement’s Sex Offender Addressing Verification Program.
Of the 16 sex offenders who did not register, one was found to be deceased, while two others were found to be living in another state and were properly registered there. Four cases were sent to the Crook County District Attorney’s Office to be charged. The remaining nine are still under investigation.
