WALLOWA — A motorcycle rider was killed after colliding with a deer on state Highway 82 west of Wallowa, in northeast Oregon.
Oregon State Police say the motorcycle was the lead motorcycle in a group of four around 7:20 Saturday evening when it hit the deer.
The Oregonian reports the crash threw the rider and his passenger to the pavement.
Police say 62-year-old Tony Sumpter, of Union, landed in the oncoming lane, where he was struck and killed by a vehicle. His passenger, Nichole Tinsley, of Spokane, declined medical treatment.
