Deschutes Brewery wins World's Best Beer title

Deschutes Brewery can now say it makes the “World's Best Beer."

The Bend-based brewer's Red Chair NWPA took the title at the World Beer Awards, the competition announced today. The Red Chair also won “World's Best Pale," “World's Best Pale Ale" and the “America's Best Pale Ale."

The contest, organized by British publishing company Paragraph Publishing, seeks to select the best internationally recognized beer styles, according to worldbeerawards.com website. Beers entered must first win regional competitions in Asia, Europe and the Americas before making it to the World's Best competition.

Deschutes Brewery's The Abyss also took home World's Best Stout & Porter and World's Best Stout & Porter Imperial titles.
