Day-use fees at most U.S. Forest Service recreation sites will be waived Saturday as part of National Public Lands Day.
Fees will not be waived at campgrounds or for recreation rentals.
In addition to the fee waiver, there will be numerous volunteer opportunities Saturday on state and local lands. Depending on the site, volunteers can plant trees and vegetation, build trails, remove trash and repair bridges.
