Tumalo Falls Road will be off limits for the next eight months so the City of Bend can move in construction equipment and possibly revamp the drinking system pulling water from Bridge Creek west of town.
The U.S. Forest Service and the city announced late this afternoon that Tumalo Falls Road will be closed starting today until May 24.
The closure covers the two-mile dirt road leading from the end of Skyliners Road to the Tumalo Falls parking lot as well as about two miles of trails near the falls. The road is closed to hiking and biking, and will be closed to skiing once snow falls. Skyliners Trailhead, which doubles as Skyliners Sno-Park, will also be intermittently closed.
