Blaze destroys southwest Bend Home

The Bend Fire Department was called to a house fire at 19600 Buck Canyon Road in southwest Bend on Monday afternoon. When firefighters arrived at about 4:24 p.m., the manufactured home was engulfed in flames. The home, worth an estimated $75,000 and owned by the Arnold Irrigation District, was a total loss, as was $25,000 in contents. The people living in the home were renting and did not have renters insurance. They received help from the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still investigation.
