Bend kicker joins UO roster

Published: September 06. 2012 4:00AM PST

Bend’s Hayden Crook has been added to the University of Oregon football roster.

The walk-on freshman kicker played football, soccer and basketball for Bend High, from which he graduated this year.

Dave Williford, director of media services for UO, confirmed this week that Crook has been added to the UO roster along with three other players, as rosters are allowed to expand past 105 players after the first game. The other players added include veteran walk-on kicker Eric Solis, former Marist High (Eugene) receiver Jeff Bedbury, and offensive lineman Matt McFadden.

An all-state first-team kicker as a high school senior, Crook is one of four kickers currently with the Ducks, and he is the only player from Central Oregon on the Oregon roster.

Crook scored 45 points as a senior kicker for Bend High, including a long field goal of 39 yards.

No. 4 Oregon, which defeated Arkansas State 57-34 on Saturday, hosts Fresno State this Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
