Lightning storms are expected to continue across Central Oregon starting Thursday and going through the weekend, the Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch Center said.
In the past few days, the dispatch center says about 1,000 lightning strikes have hit the Central Oregon area. A few fires from the strikes have been found, though they have remained small and contained.
