The remnants of a large commercial building that housed PMI Truck Bodies smolder Friday following an explosion overnight in Albany. The Albany Democrat-Herald reported the owner of the company, Brad Hadman, was sleeping in a motor home parked inside the building at the time of the explosion early Friday morning but managed to escape without injury.
Hadman told firefighters he woke up to a whistling sound and escaped from the building through the remains of a rear wall that had been blown out by the explosion.
Fire crews found the 12,000-square-foot building engulfed in flames and collapsing.
The cause is under investigation.
