Flu shot recommendations from the CDC

Last modified: September 16. 2010 5:18AM PST

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending that everyone ages 6 months and older get a flu vaccination this year and every year. Even though people who had H1N1 flu last season may have gained immunity to that one flu strain, officials say they may still need protection from the other strains in this year's vaccine. The CDC has more information on its website at www.cdc.gov/flu.

The Deschutes County Health Department is offering flu shots for children. Many area pharmacies and stores offer them for adults.
