Gary Montgomery, who recently moved to Bend from Louisiana, practices his spey casting on the Deschutes River downstream from the Colorado Avenue bridge on Wednesday afternoon. “I’m kind of obsessed. I come down here at least four times a week to practice my casting,” he said.
