Allan M. Powell, 38, of Redmond, OR, was born in Longview, WA, to Claude and Barbara Powell. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Kelso High School. He moved to Oregon in 1996, and was employed at Brightwood, Inc. for 13 years, most recently as a machine operator.
He married Bethanie (Wilson) Young in December 1996. They had one son, D.J., and later divorced. In August 2008, he married Jennifer Keen in Pacific City, OR.
One of Allan's favorite activities was playing Texas-Holdem with friends and family. He loved exploring all aspects of nature, and particularly enjoyed rockhounding and hiking. He and his wife, Jennifer, spent many weekends traveling throughout Oregon and Washington in search of waterfalls. He was a race car enthusiast, and his favorite hobby was custom-building model cars, interests also shared with his wife.
He is survived by his spouse, Jennifer LeeAnn Powell of Redmond, OR; his parents, Claude Powell and Barbara (Geisler) Powell of Kelso, WA; son, Dennis James "DJ" Powell of Woodland, WA; a sister, Brenda Lee Newman of Longview, WA; a brother, Michael Lee Powell and partner, Tammy Carter, of Bend, OR; grandfather, Ralph Powell, Sr. of Kelso, WA; three nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ward Geisler, Sr.; his grandmother, Bonnie (Otten) Rexroat and her spouse, Jim Rexroat; his grandmother, May (Malson) Powell; and his uncle, Ralph Powell, Jr.
A private memorial will be held by the family. Contributions in memory of Allan may be made to Hospice.
