With snow moving into the mountains, the Metolius River has a lot to offer in the shoulder season.
Heading downriver along the East Metolius Trail, you'll be treated to the sound of gurgling water and may see deer, great blue herons or American dippers — so named for their habit of dipping into the water for food.
