Greeninger and Kai celebrate new CD

Published: November 13. 2009 4:00AM PST

Local folk fans are no doubt familiar with Keith Greeninger and Dayan Kai, a duo that has played together for years and been through Central Oregon a few times. Greeninger, in particular, has long been a supporter of the Sisters Folk Festival, the Americana Song Academy and the Americana Project.

On Saturday, the pair will perform in Sisters to celebrate the release of their new acoustic CD, called “Make It Rain.” The album includes lots of material that is beloved by long-time fans, but has never been available on a recording. Until now.

“Make It Rain” was recorded in one eight-hour session totally live, with no headphones and no overdubs, and with Grammy-nominated engineer and producer Cookie Marenco in the booth. Marenco is known for her work as a producer in the early days of the Windham Hill record label.

For more info, visit www .keithgreeninger.com. Brad Tisdel, Dennis McGregor, Patrick Lombardi and Peter Heitoff will open the show.
