Donald W. Hakkila

July 23, 1934 - Nov. 7, 2009.

Master Sergeant Donald W. Hakkila, age 75 from Twin Falls, Idaho passed away on November 7, 2009.

Donald was born July 23, 1934, in Los Angeles, CA, son of Emil and Francis Hakkila.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1955, toured Korea, Viet Nam and Germany. He was with the US Army Band and was Honorably discharged in May 1978.

Donald married Deana Brooke in 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jerome, ID and a former member of Faith Lutheran of La Pine, OR.

Survivors are his wife, Deana of Twin Falls; brother, Ralph (Elaine) of Redmond, OR; sisters, Carol Clifton of Haines, Alaska and Penny (Ron) Peterson of Vancouver, WA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was pr eceded in death by his parents, Emil and Francis Hakkila; brother, Carl; and his seven-year-old son, Ricky.

Donald's family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Redmond, 1355 NE Hemlock Ave., Redmond, Oregon.
