That hydrant is outta here

Public Works Water Utilities worker Steve Riley, center, is handed a large pipe cutter from co-worker Will Milligan, as they prepare to remove a fire hydrant Tuesday at the corner of Northwest Newport Avenue and Northwest Grove Road in Bend. Crews have been replacing problematic hydrants within the past year at a rate of around 10 to 14 per week, according to Paul Roy, operation and maintenance manager with the Bend Public Works Department.
