Terry passed unexpectedly on October 15, 2009. Born in Wheatland, Wyoming, she graduated from Wheatland High School and received an Associates degree from Chadron State.
She travelled to Ventura, California and married Robert Frick in 1961, to begin a family. In 1964, they moved to Bishop, CA to manage Virginia Lakes Resort. In 1970, they moved to Pleasant Hill, Oregon and then proceeded to Bend, Oregon in 1972, where they raised their three children.
Terry was active in the community working with Welcome Wagon, 4-H and raising various animals on the farm. She was an entrepreneur who established a llama packing guide service in the Cascades, outfitting international guests through the Central Oregon wilderness.
Devoted to her church, she participated in work witness teams travelling to Venezuela, Kenya, Alaska, Peru, Romania, Brazil, and Belize. Her special talent was serving as cook and kitchen manger. She travelled within the US as well as in Europe, Morocco, Ireland, Australia, Israel, Greece, and Mexico.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and seven grandchildren. She was a dedicated friend and a mentor to many people.
With an artistic flair, Terry created an environment around her that took common items and created her vision of country mosaic, combining gardening, glass, wood, steel, antiques and farm equipment to bring new life to things of times past. Knitting, sewing, photography and painting were all hobbies that Terry also enjoyed. Music was a passion that she found time for in her life, raising her voice in praise, singing with her high school trio at class reunions each year, ringing bells, playing saxophone and autoharp gave her much joy.
A retired farmer and rancher, she managed real estate and investments that allowed her to pursue her passion in Christ, sharing her spiritual beliefs. She had a huge heart for people who needed love. She was dedicated to reading and writing about the journey with her lord.
Terry's legacy, her three loving children and their families, Kyle & Christal Frick, Kori & Darin Harvey and Kathy & Randy Moss were her life's work. Terry was a loving grandmother who will be missed by her seven grandchildren, Peyton, McKenna, Sydney, Megan, Kaelin, Paige, and Cameron. She is survived by her sister, Colleen Metzler of Powell, Wyoming; numerous extended family members; and many devoted friends.
Terry is preceded in death by her parents, Annesta Zee and Robert Ferguson; and brother, Robert (Bud).
A Celebration of Terry's life will be held at the Nazarene Church, 1270 NE 27th Street, Bend, OR 97701, Sunday, October 25th, 2009, at 3 pm.
