Edmond 'Ed' Eugene Ross

Edmond Eugene Ross, 89, died peacefully at home on August 27, 2009. He was born January 16, 1920, in Dereno, New Mexico.
Ed rode his horse to school as a youngster. His family farmed, passing the passion for gardening to Ed. He maintained a small garden every year until his death.
Ed was a WWII veteran. After the war he met and married Betty Jo Waters. They lived in Vale, Oregon and eventually relocated to Redmond, Oregon in 1965.
Edmond was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Ed told numerous stories of riding the range, his tour of duty, farming his ranch and loving his life as a dad. He was a kind and gentle man who was quick to befriend all.
Edmond was proceeded in death by his parents, Lenora and George Ross; and two brothers, George and Bill Ross. Ed leaves behind a sister, Thelma Buttice of Vale, Oregon; his wife of 60 years, Betty Jo Ross; five sons, David of Yakima, WA, Jerry of Silverdale, WA, Kenneth of Salem, OR, Keith of Redmond, OR, and Steve of Stayton, OR; a daughter, Marie Bishop of Bend, OR; 13 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Redmond, OR.
Redmond Memorial Chapel was honored to serve the family.
