Way back in July of 2006, I told you all about The High Strung, the Detroit garage-pop trio that was touring around the country, playing full-blown rock shows at libraries (including Bend’s). The goal? To re-brand libraries as cool places to hang out.
Well, the band has been all over since (including Players Bar & Grill and, just recently, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba), and on Wednesday, they’ll be back to play the Bend Public Library again.
The High Strung specializes in very catchy, psychedelic pop-rock, heavily influenced by The Beatles. You can hear what they do (and read their hilarious updates from the road) at www.thehighstrung.com.
The show is open to all ages, but geared toward teens, so if you’re a teen, go check this band out. They’re awesome. And if you’re not, go check this band out. They’re awesome.
The High Strung, with We Are Brontosaurus ; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday; free; Bend Public Library, 601 N.W. Wall St.; 541-617-7079.
